Three people were killed and 14 seriously injured in a collision involving a Greyhound bus and stationary commercial vehicles parked on an exit ramp of Illinois’ Interstate 70.
The incident took place at approximately 1:54 am on Wednesday, July 12.
The accident occurred on Illinois’ Interstate 70 at the Silver Lake Rest Area, prompting the Illinois State Police to respond. Medical assistance was immediately dispatched, with four critically injured victims being airlifted and an additional ten victims transported by ambulance. The Greyhound bus was making its journey from Indianapolis to St. Louis at the time of the incident. The company has since confirmed that multiple passengers and the bus driver were hospitalized, emphasizing their primary concern for the safety of all involved.
Illinois police identified the three victims as Juan Vasquez-Rodriguez, 34, Buford Paya, 71, and Bradley Donovan, 47.
