Before Fallon could land his punchline, a single audience member let out a loud cheer. Others immediately joined in celebration, though a few groaned at the disruption. Fallon laughed for several moments before collecting himself and pressing forward.
Wednesday’s segment represented the comedian’s second consecutive night mocking Trump’s food container gambit. The previous evening, Fallon himself emerged onstage in a fake shipping container, lampooning the president’s concealment tactic. On Wednesday, he elaborated on the incident, noting that when Trump was covertly transferred to a second aircraft leaving the NATO summit in Ankara, he abandoned key officials including his Deputy Chief of Staff, Stephen Miller, and his Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, both of whom stayed aboard Air Force One as decoys alongside the press corps.
