Former Fox Host Stuns Nation With Trump Comments

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly set the political world ablaze with explosive claims about President Donald Trump’s marriages during a May 22, 2026, appearance on the “Hodgetwins Podcast,” alleging the president has cheated on every woman he has ever married — including current First Lady Melania Trump. The remarks, which surfaced widely on May 25, drew immediate attention across political and entertainment circles.

Kelly’s comments came in direct response to Trump’s recent public criticism of former counterterrorism chief Joe Kent, who remarried Heather Kaiser Kent four years after the combat death of his first wife, Navy officer Shannon Kent, in 2019. Trump had publicly questioned the timing of Kent’s remarriage — a stance Kelly found deeply hypocritical given the president’s own marital history.

A Glass House Comparison

“Talk about a glass house!” Kelly told the hosts, according to coverage of the podcast. “Trump has cheated on every wife he’s had. I mean, he met Marla Maples while he was still married to the mother of his children, Ivana. It was all over the New York papers… like, he was proud of the affair!”

Kelly didn’t stop there. She also raised an old and disputed allegation made decades ago by Trump’s first wife, Ivana Trump, who once accused him of rape. Kelly noted that Ivana later retracted the claim — first in 1993, and again during Trump’s 2015 presidential campaign — saying she couldn’t verify the truth of the original accusation but felt it spoke to a troubled relationship.

Then came perhaps her most pointed jab, aimed at speculation about the current first lady. “If you think Trump’s been faithful to Melania, that’s great. You’ve got bigger issues than I can solve here,” Kelly said.

Trump’s Three Marriages

Trump has been married three times. He wed Ivana Zelníčková in 1977, and the couple had three children together: Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1990, following Trump’s well-documented affair with model and actress Marla Maples.

Trump married Maples in 1993, the same year Ivana first retracted her allegation. The couple welcomed daughter Tiffany Trump before divorcing in 1999. Six years later, in 2005, Trump married Melania Trump. Their son, Barron Trump, was born in 2006.

The topic of Trump’s alleged infidelity returned to the national spotlight in 2018, when he became embroiled in a criminal case over an alleged “hush money” payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels regarding an alleged 2006 sexual encounter — the same year Barron was born.

Melania’s Public Response

The first lady herself has previously addressed the rumors directly. During an October 2025 interview on “Good Morning America,” Melania Trump pushed back firmly against media speculation regarding the state of her marriage.

“It is not a concern and focus of mine,” she said at the time. “I’m a mother and a first lady, and I have much more important things to think about and to do. I know people like to speculate, and the media like to speculate about our marriage.”

Her composed response stood in sharp contrast to the headlines that have continually swirled around Trump’s romantic past — headlines Kelly seems determined not to let fade quietly into the background.

Not Kelly’s First Critique

This is hardly the first time Kelly has weighed in critically on the president’s personal character. As previously reported, in an earlier conversation with Russell Brand on “The Megyn Kelly Show,” she described certain aspects of Trump’s “personality which are obviously not good and that we’ve mostly just chosen to overlook.” She labeled the president “not a moral man,” and described him as “not the greatest husband in the world,” adding that he is “extremely petty and thin-skinned.”

Kelly’s relationship with Trump has long been complicated. The two famously clashed during the 2016 Republican presidential debate cycle when she was still anchoring at Fox News, before later finding more common political ground in subsequent years. Her latest remarks, however, suggest she is unwilling to shy away from criticizing the president when she believes his rhetoric crosses into hypocrisy.

The original podcast appearance has triggered widespread debate online, with supporters of the president dismissing Kelly’s commentary as opportunistic and detractors of Trump praising her for what they see as long-overdue candor from a prominent conservative media figure. As of June 5, 2026, neither the White House nor representatives for the first lady had issued a formal response to Kelly’s claims.

What remains clear is that Kelly’s words — delivered with characteristic bluntness — have once again injected the president’s personal life into the broader political conversation, an arena where Trump himself has often been willing to enter, regardless of who is throwing the stones.
