Prince Harry Faces Off With Donald Trump in Desperate Attempt

Prince Harry, 41, may be deliberately provoking Donald Trump in an effort to get deported from the United States and return to the United Kingdom, according to royal expert Hilary Fordwich. The California-based Duke of Sussex has made a series of public comments that appeared to aim at the president, raising questions about whether the remarks were calculated moves rather than casual observations.

The controversy began when Harry appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” During a segment about holiday films, the duke quipped about the United States. When Colbert dismissed the idea that Americans are “obsessed with royalty,” Harry responded, “Really? I heard you elected a king.” The comment drew boos and groans from the studio audience.

Two days later, on December 5, 2025, Harry made another pointed remark at a British American Business Council meeting in Santa Monica. While discussing the 2026 World Cup in Los Angeles and British visitors traveling to the U.S., he joked about customs and ICE, referring to welcoming more British visitors through immigration controls.

Fordwich said the pattern of provocative statements may not be accidental, suggesting that Harry’s comments may be a deliberate attempt to be deported. The royal expert noted it was entirely possible given the circumstances.

The royal expert’s theory comes amid ongoing speculation about Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle, 44. The couple left their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to Montecito, California, where they live with their children Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.

Harry’s immigration status has been under scrutiny since he admitted to drug use in his memoir “Spare.” The Heritage Foundation sued for his visa records, questioning whether he had been truthful on his application forms. The conservative think tank argued that anyone applying to enter the United States must be honest about past drug use.

Trump addressed the situation in early February 2025 in an interview with the New York Post, ruling out deportation for the duke but taking a sharp jab at Meghan. Trump told the New York Post, “I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.” Trump also described Harry as “whipped” and said he thinks “poor Harry is being led around by the nose.”

The relationship between Harry and the Trump administration stands in stark contrast to the rapport between Prince William and the incoming president. Prince William met Trump in Paris on December 7, 2024, during the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral, with Trump later praising the future king.

Behind the scenes, Harry’s relationship with his father, King Charles III, has deteriorated. According to reports from People Magazine in April 2025, the relationship between Harry and King Charles has deteriorated significantly, with sources stating the king is not answering Harry’s calls or letters. Friends of Harry told the publication, “He gets unavailable right now.” This leaves the duke in a difficult position as he navigates both his estrangement from the royal family and his uncertain status in America.

Adding to the complexity of Harry’s situation, the United Kingdom Home Office has ordered a security threat assessment for the prince in December 2025 — the first such review since 2020. The evaluation, expected to conclude in January 2026, could potentially open the door for Harry to return home with his children, though questions remain about what role Meghan would play in any such move.

Immigration experts have speculated that Harry may hold an A-1 diplomatic visa, a rare status reserved for heads of state and foreign royals, though U.S. authorities have not officially confirmed this. Immigration lawyer Melissa Chavin told the Daily Mail the A-1 visa is like a “golden ticket,” noting that it comes with lower security checks and allows holders to stay for “duration of status” as long as they remain in the royal line of succession. The A-1 visa would have required different vetting processes than standard visas.

If Harry does hold such a visa, it could explain why his past drug admissions have not resulted in immediate immigration consequences. The diplomatic status would provide significant protections that ordinary visa holders do not receive, potentially shielding him from the scrutiny that the Heritage Foundation has attempted to generate through its legal challenges.

Royal observers have noted that Harry and Meghan appear to be moving in different directions. While Meghan focuses on building her brand and her lifestyle content ventures, including Netflix projects, Harry has expressed interest in regaining security protection in the United Kingdom. The diverging paths have fueled speculation about the state of their marriage and whether Harry genuinely wishes to return to Britain.

For now, Harry remains in California despite the ongoing speculation about his intentions. Whether his recent comments about Trump were genuine political statements or calculated provocations designed to force a deportation remains unclear. What is certain is that the duke’s status in America continues to generate controversy, and his relationship with both the Trump administration and his own family remains strained as he navigates life outside the royal fold.
