The fatal accident happened when Cavalcanti’s motorcycle crashed head-on into a Volkswagen Virtus, driven by a 17-year-old who reportedly took his parents’ car without their consent. The collision occurred on BR-369, a Brazilian federal highway notorious for heavy traffic. Cavalcanti was immediately declared dead at the scene, while the underage driver and his two passengers were hospitalized.
The severity of the accident may lead authorities to charge the 17-year-old driver as an adult. If charged, he could face offenses that are equivalent to homicide, reflecting the seriousness of the incident and the significant loss to the community.

Kokodinak reflected, “We shared the stage many times, always competing together. We will miss you, brother. You were a great friend and athlete; it’s hard to believe you’re gone.” Another fellow athlete, Eduardo Freitas, recognized Cavalcanti as not just an excellent athlete but also a “sensational person and a brother given to me by the sport.”
