Kimmel Destroys Trump With Savage Takedown

Jimmy Kimmel used his monologue on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, to mock President Donald Trump’s multiday reaction to being passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The late-night host, who fronts “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on ABC, built the segment around Trump’s roughly 600-word Truth Social post about the snub. Excluding his name and title, the post ran 590 words. The onscreen screenshot of it was so large that it blocked Kimmel from view.

Kimmel jabbed: “What better way to deserve a Nobel Prize than attacking the woman who won it at midnight in a social media post that is twice as long as the Gettysburg Address.”

The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the winner on Friday, Oct. 9. The prize went to Navanethem “Navi” Pillay, 85, a South African lawyer who served as U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights and spent years as an international judge.

Trump lost the previous year’s prize to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who later gave the award to the president during her visit to the White House.

Kimmel had seen the outcome coming. The night before the announcement, he said: “I know you only bombed 10 fishermen in one school, and I know you don’t care about the Nobel Prize, but somebody will get it. And you’ll be mortified to know that someone will not be you tomorrow.”

The “Noble” Typo and Natalie Harp

Trump followed up over the weekend with a post that misspelled the award. “I did not get the Noble Peace Prize. Wow,” he wrote in the Saturday, Oct. 10 post. He added in the same post: “I settled 8 WARS, am close to ending or settling 2 more.”

Kimmel aimed the misspelling at Natalie Harp, a special assistant to the president and a fiercely loyal aide who is paid $150,000 a year. “Do you think Natalie misspells the word ‘Nobel’ on purpose?” he asked.

The war count ran through the longer post too. Trump wrote that he had “settled eight Wars, and many other things.” By Kimmel’s count, Trump worked in the eight-war tally seven separate times. Trump also wrote, “in actuality, I should have won 8 Nobel Peace Prizes, not just 1.”

Boos for a Syracuse Clip

Kimmel then rolled clips from Trump’s campaign rally in Syracuse, N.Y., on Friday, Oct. 9. His studio audience booed as the clip played.

Trump told the crowd there: “The United States of America, represented by me as your president, should have received the Nobel Peace Prize, but didn’t.” He called the decision an indelible stain on Norway and blasted “those people that made such a disgraceful and embarrassing decision.”

Kimmel deadpanned that he was upset too that Trump hadn’t won. He told Norway: “I hope you’re happy you made our baby cry.” He then noted a flaw in the target, because the independent Norwegian Nobel Committee chooses the prize and is not affiliated with the Norwegian government.

Trump declared at the rally that there should have been eight Nobel prizes for each war. Kimmel joked: “Eight prizes for each war. He means he should have 64 Nobel prizes! Minus 8 for the war we started, that’s an even 56.”

What he really wondered, he said, was why the world’s most powerful person behaves like “such a petty little b**** at all times.” He said he was not sure which was more alarming: that Trump was upset he didn’t win, or that he was surprised.

Peace Signs From a Van

Kimmel offered his own pick for an American who deserves a peace prize: Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. He played a clip of McConnell flashing peace signs from a van and said peace is all the senator talks about.

The monologue also took on Katie Zacharia, the new White House press secretary and a former host on Newsmax. “She has blond hair, she can do a thumbs up and … end of list, really,” said Kimmel.

Trump has floated naming the Pacific or the Atlantic Ocean after himself. Kimmel called him “Moby Dictator” and added that he cannot even manage a reflecting pool.

“That Was Funny,” Kimmel Said

Kimmel gave Trump one win. Over the weekend, Trump mocked Kathy Hochul, the governor of New York, over the terms “gestating” and “non-gestating” parents. Hochul is reviewing a state bill that would make legal language gender neutral.

“You know what, that was funny,” Kimmel said, adding, “I’m going to call ‘my gestating’ on the way home from work tonight.”

The feud runs both ways. Trump called Kimmel a loser at a rally in Tennessee, after Kimmel observed that one of the president’s events had empty seats. “This loser, Jimmy Kimmel,” Trump told the crowd. “What a loser. I had just left Texas or somewhere. The place is packed. And maybe it was Ohio. The place is packed.” Trump also said attendees “had to walk thousands of people. They couldn’t get into the arena.” Kimmel repeated the point, saying there were empty seats even at the rally where Trump complained about it.

ABC brushed off recent claims that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is ending next year, as of Oct. 15, amid Trump’s long-running demands that the network cancel the show. Kimmel closed by calling the president “President Pumpkin McButthurt.”
