Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump, is now 20 and a junior at New York University’s satellite campus in Washington, D.C.
He is studying finance at the New York University Stern School of Business.
Since starting college, Barron has swapped a tailored look for something much closer to a standard campus uniform. Photos from 2025, republished by Hello! Magazine in late September 2026, showed him leaving New York University in a white Ralph Lauren polo shirt, beige chinos, a brown leather belt and a black backpack. Secret Service personnel accompanied him during the outing.
His hair drew the most attention. He wore it longer and tousled instead of the slicked-back style long associated with him, with strands falling naturally across his forehead, seemingly without styling product. Sharp suits and longline wool coats had been his standard for high-profile family appearances, and this casual turn broke plainly with them. There is no indication he had publicly described the change as a deliberate reinvention.
A New Look at UFC
The UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House in June 2026 brought another noticeable hairstyle change from Barron. A seat just behind his parents was where he watched the Sunday, June 14, card on the South Lawn. It was his first public appearance since his father’s State of the Union address in February.
Gone was the shorter style he wore as a teenager; longer, wavy hair had taken its place. Social media users quickly remarked on his darker hair and more mature features, and some said he increasingly resembled his mother. Others judged him more subdued and less polished than usual. One viewer described him as “older, darker hair, slightly heavier, tired.”
NYU’s Greenwich Village campus in Manhattan took him in fall 2024, when he first enrolled, and reports said he commuted to classes from Trump Tower. He then transferred to the Washington campus for the fall 2025 semester.
A Drinks Brand and Crypto
SOLLOS, a drinks brand Barron started with friends from Florida, launched in June 2026 and draws its inspiration from the Sunshine State. The company rolled out its first product in 2026. He is listed as a founding partner and director, though the role he has taken is behind the scenes rather than that of its public face.
Published estimates have put his personal fortune at around $150 million, with his involvement in the family’s crypto ventures cited as a factor. He also reportedly holds locked cryptocurrency tokens that cannot yet be traded, and The Blast reported that Forbes estimated they could be worth as much as $525 million once they become available.
His father has praised his technical abilities. “He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology,” President Donald Trump said in a March 2025 interview with Laura Ingraham.
Private Life, Rare Sightings
Reports have said Barron has been dating a woman he met on the NYU campus for more than a year. Reporting on Sept. 27 indicated that the relationship is something he keeps largely private, and where the romance stands now is unclear, particularly after his campus switch. Donald Trump told the PBD Podcast in 2024 that he was not sure his son was at the dating stage yet.
Melania Trump, 56, spoke about the family’s schedules on Fox Business’ “The Big Money Show” on Sept. 23. Their schedules mean the family sees less of one another than it used to, the first lady said, and Barron, now a young man, has plenty of his own to get on with. She noted her husband’s work can keep him in the Oval Office late into the evening while she keeps her own calendar full.
The public rarely catches sight of the student, who is estimated to stand between 6-foot-7 and 6-foot-9. The FIFA World Cup final in New Jersey on July 19 marked his last public appearance, where he joined Donald and Melania Trump at MetLife Stadium.
His mother wrote about him in her 2024 memoir, “Melania”: “Barron possesses a rare combination of intelligence, charm, and diligence.” His character and values, she added, had survived intact the upheaval his father’s election and presidency brought.
First Lady Melania Trump has credited Barron with advising his father on which young voters to reach during the 2024 campaign.
