Heat, a weekly published in the United Kingdom, reported in mid-September 2026 that the former spouses “spend a lot more time together than anyone realises,” describing phone calls “at all hours” and what the source called “their same old dynamic.” That phrase, repeated across a dozen aggregators within days, is carrying most of the weight behind a fresh round of reunion speculation. No wire service or general-interest newspaper has carried the claim.
What the Source Actually Claims
The retellings diverge on the basic question of who is leaning on whom. One version has Lopez stepping up for Affleck. Another has Affleck stepping up for her, with Lopez going to him for advice on everything. A third adds that there is “a flirty vibe again.” None of them names a source, and no representative for either performer has commented.
Two pieces of context behind the claim are real and do not come from an anonymous tipster. Affleck’s mother, Chris Anne Affleck, died on June 2 at 83, and the family’s obituary became public in late July. Lopez’s twins started college this year, a transition she has talked about publicly more than once.
