Savannah Guthrie Corners Jennifer Lopez on the Spot

When Savannah Guthrie asked Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein point-blank if they were dating during their appearance on “TODAY” on June 2, 2026, she wasn’t about to accept a dodge. The co-host pushed through the playful deflections and charming banter until she got a clear answer: no.

The pair visited NBC’s morning show to discuss “Office Romance,” their new Netflix rom-com that launches June 5, 2026. In the film, Lopez, 56, portrays Jackie Cruz, an airline CEO who develops feelings for Daniel Blanchflower, a lawyer and new employee played by Goldstein, 45. Their undeniable chemistry during promotional appearances has fueled relationship speculation among fans since mid-May.

A Firm Denial After Some Persistence

Savannah Guthrie, 54, brought up the widespread speculation directly, observing, “You know what everyone’s saying: That it might be real.”

Lopez responded by noting this pattern follows her everywhere. “There’s never a time where I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person,” she said, characterizing such rumors as a constant in her public life.

The “Ted Lasso” star played along, joking that rumors ignite whenever anyone simply stands beside Lopez — and admitting he’d been positioning himself as close as possible throughout their press tour. When Guthrie suggested that was probably his wish, Goldstein happily confirmed it.

But the anchor wasn’t satisfied with the lighthearted evasion. “Okay, but I’ll just say, because I’m me and you know me. That was not an answer,” she told them.

Lopez disagreed, insisting she had answered, then cited a string of previous rumored relationships to illustrate her point. “There’s all these people that they put me with! It happens all the time. Doesn’t make it true,” she said.

After softening the exchange with a compliment about Lopez being an attractive, available woman, Guthrie asked one final time whether they were a couple.

“Not dating,” Lopez stated clearly. Goldstein added a one-word confirmation: “Correct.”

The Question Everyone Wanted Answered

The on-screen connection between Lopez and Goldstein has generated significant buzz, with audiences analyzing every shared laugh and sidelong glance during their promotional activities. Goldstein co-wrote “Office Romance” specifically for Lopez, a detail that has only intensified the speculation about whether their professional collaboration has crossed into personal territory.

Lopez Says She’s in Her ‘Happy Era’

Lopez has been unattached since her divorce from Ben Affleck became final in January 2026. She also rejected the possibility of appearing on “The Bachelorette” when the topic arose in April 2026.

During a previous “Good Morning America” interview, Lopez discussed how fulfilling her current solo chapter feels. “I’m in my happy era. I feel like, for the first time in my life, I’m free. I’m on my own. And it feels really good. I didn’t really know what that felt like since I was in my early 20s and even before that, I’ve always had a boyfriend. There was always someone in my life and so many other things that I felt were out of my control,” she shared.

That mindset helps explain why she’s been so resolute in dismissing the dating rumors.

A Playful Turnabout on Set

Later in the segment, the tables turned when Guthrie attempted to begin a trivia game but dropped her cue cards and lost her place. Lopez seized the opportunity, teasing that the host had become “flustered.” Guthrie admitted it: “I did, I got flustered. It’s you, Jennifer!”

Lopez celebrated the reversal. “You tried to fluster us, and we flustered you!” she said with a laugh.

Viewers eager to witness the connection that sparked all the gossip can stream “Office Romance” on Netflix beginning June 5, 2026, and experience the Lopez-Goldstein dynamic for themselves — though only in its fictional form, according to both stars. Whether fans accept that clarification remains to be seen.
