Comedy Central Stand-Up Comedian Dies at 32

Neel Nanda, a stand-up comedian noted for his performances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and Comedy Central, passed away at the age of 32. His cause of death remains undisclosed.

Nanda was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to parents who had emigrated from India. He developed an early interest in comedy, starting his stand-up career in college, inspired by Comedy Central content. He first made a name for himself in the Atlanta comedy scene before relocating to Los Angeles, California, in 2013. There, he quickly became a familiar face in various comedy clubs and on television networks.

His breakthrough came in 2017 with a five-minute stint on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” fulfilling a personal ambition and signifying a major achievement in his career. He also appeared on several Comedy Central shows, including “Adam Devine’s House Party” and “Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents” in January.

In addition to TV appearances, Nanda contributed to the online series “Garland: Anthology” and the Snapchat original “Apocalypse Goals.” He hosted “Unnecessary Evil” at the Westside Comedy Theater in Los Angeles weekly, marking his significant presence in the comedy landscape.

Greg Weiss, Nanda’s manager, announced his passing. Weiss, who had been associated with Nanda for over 11 years, stated that Nanda had a full schedule of appearances until February. The comedy world was deeply impacted by the unexpected loss of Nanda, who was actively pursuing a burgeoning career.

Nanda had been set to perform in Toronto, Canada, for two shows around his birthday, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to stand-up comedy.
