Famous singer/actress, Madonna, 64, was admitted to a New York City hospital on Saturday night, June 24, after being found unresponsive.
Reliable sources suggest that she was intubated for no less than a night, but came back to consciousness and had been making steady recovery progress.
Through an Instagram post, Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, authenticated the incident and provided a health update. He disclosed that Madonna was battling a critical bacterial infection, which mandated a multi-day stay in the Intensive Care Unit.
Madonna was discharged from the hospital on the morning of Thursday, June 29, with her manager expressing confidence in her recovery. Nonetheless, all imminent Madonna’s obligations, including the eagerly awaited “Celebration” tour slated to start on July 15 in Vancouver, are currently deferred. The tour, which aims to celebrate her 40-year tenure in the music business, was planned to cross 43 cities worldwide until January 2024.
Oseary affirmed that the tour is postponed indefinitely, and news on the rescheduled performances will be delivered when it’s available.
Madonna initially designed the tour as a tribute to New York City, the birthplace of her music career.
Latest update: According to TMZ on June 29, Madonna is still bedridden at home and continues to have symptoms of illness with uncontrollable vomiting. Sources say the singer had been fighting a fever for a month but refused to seek medical care because it might jeopardize her upcoming tour. Instead her illness became worse.
