Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are potentially facing legal action after featuring an image of a YouTuber named Shallon Lester in a documentary series about their lives.
The series mentioned that a majority of negative online comments directed towards the couple originated from a handful of accounts, and showed Lester’s image as an example.
Lester, known for discussing Harry and Markle’s relationship in her videos, recently voiced her discontent about the use of her image. In a new video, she outlined her intention to pursue legal action for defamation, slander, and misrepresentation. Lester contends that the couple refuses to acknowledge public disapproval of them, especially from people like herself who view Meghan as manipulative. While she refrained from providing specific details about the possibility of a lawsuit, Lester also talked about the controversy surrounding Markle’s podcast show, “Archetype,” on Spotify.
Reports from podnews.net have insinuated that segments of the podcasts were completed by other staffers, with Markle’s voice and questions integrated later through editing. Bill Simmons, a senior Spotify podcast executive, seemed to corroborate these allegations, dubbing the couple as “grifters.”
Jeremy Zimmer, CEO of United Talent Agency, criticized Markle’s talent during the Cannes Lions advertising festival. He commented on the cancellation of the podcast, emphasizing that fame does not necessarily guarantee skill.
