Taylor Swift’s Wedding Costs Stun the Internet

A July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden will cost Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce roughly $3 million just to rent the venue for three days, according to a June 10, 2026 report that has set the internet buzzing over the couple’s lavish plans.

The price amounts to approximately $1 million per day: one day for setup, one for the ceremony itself and a third for teardown of what could become a $10 million to $20 million affair once all costs are tallied.

Sonal Shah, a Manhattan-based luxury wedding planner with more than a decade of experience, told the New York Post that the venue rental represents only the beginning of expenses.

“I would expect the cost of renting Madison Square Garden for a Saturday-night wedding to be approximately $1 million to $2.5 million before you even begin building the wedding itself,” Shah said.

After adding production, security, catering, entertainment and décor, Shah estimated the total cost could realistically reach $10 million to $20 million-plus.

No Discounts Despite Swift’s History at the Venue

Despite Taylor Swift’s deep connection to Madison Square Garden — the 14-time Grammy winner has performed eight sold-out shows there throughout her career — the couple received no friends-and-family discount and are paying full retail price for the venue.

Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp., the publicly traded company that owns MSG, has stockholders who oversee financial decisions, meaning major arrangements aren’t handled as private favors.

Travis Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champion, and Swift have essentially taken over the entire building. No other events are scheduled at MSG during their three-day celebration, converting the home of Knicks games, Rangers nights and concerts into what may be the most unusual celebrity wedding venue in recent memory.

Privacy Drives the Garden Choice

The Manhattan arena selection centers on one priority: privacy. Page Six previously reported that privacy was of number one importance to them both.

For two celebrities whose Brooklyn coffee runs generate photographers and online speculation within minutes, MSG provides unusual advantages — no windows for long-lens cameras, underground parking and multiple entry points that allow guests to avoid chaos outside.

Security expenses alone are expected to be substantial. The couple has reached out to the NYPD and private security firms, and streets around Madison Square Garden are expected to be closed off.

Over 1,000 Guests Contacted by Phone and Text

More than 1,000 people are reportedly on the guest list, all contacted by phone or text rather than formal paper invitations in an effort to prevent leaks.

The roster of names tied to the event includes Karlie Kloss, Zoë Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, the Haim sisters, Suki Waterhouse, Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez. Should even a portion of that group attend, the Garden will host what has been described as arguably the biggest celebrity wedding ever.

An Independence Day Weekend Tradition Becomes a Wedding

A July 4 weekend wedding in New York City aligns perfectly with Swift’s established patterns. The singer, who owns a Tribeca apartment, has historically thrown large Independence Day weekend gatherings with friends — celebrity-filled summer parties that have become a tradition. This year, that party doubles as her wedding.

Swift and Kelce began dating in 2023 and announced their engagement in August 2025. His proposal came after filming a New Heights podcast episode — the same episode during which Swift revealed her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” Since then, the couple has remained quiet about wedding planning, allowing reports trickle out instead of confirming details directly.

Madison Square Garden has witnessed championship victories, landmark concerts and decades of New York history. On Independence Day weekend, it will add another chapter: the site where Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce exchanged vows — for a retail rental price of $3 million.
