South Korean band Acoustic Collabo’s vocalist, Mo Su-jin, passed away at 27 on January 25, 2026, as officially announced three days later by her agency, Panic Button.
The agency released a statement, “Mo Su-jin, the vocalist of Acoustic Collabo, passed away on the 25th,” while withholding the cause of death. They conveyed the grief of her family, deeply shocked by the sudden loss.
A plea for privacy from the bereaved family was made, urging the public not to speculate about the cause of death. The funeral, attended solely by close family and friends, took place privately. The burial service was held at Eden Memorial Park in Namyangju at 10:30 a.m. on January 28, 2026.
Mo Su-jin, born in 1999, started her career as an idol trainee before joining Acoustic Collabo as their third vocalist. She later became the band’s lead vocalist, performing alongside Kim Seung-jae.
The South Korean band, Acoustic Collabo, also features vocalists Ahn Da Eun and Kim Kyu Nyeon. The band’s third album, “Good to Be with You,” highlighted Mo’s vocal prowess.
Acoustic Collabo was embroiled in a legal dispute with their former management company in 2022. The band claimed a significant victory in the second trial on November 27, 2025, after partially resolving the dispute in 2024.
Following the settlement, Acoustic Collabo returned in 2025, signing an exclusive contract with Panic Button. Mo Su-jin also pursued a solo career, releasing the single “Your Universe” in June 2025.
The agency, in its statement after Mo’s death, emphasized the family’s desire for privacy, requesting that specific details, including the cause of death, remain undisclosed.
Local newspapers ONSEN and Korea JoongAng Daily reported the news, which quickly spread across social media and entertainment industry platforms after Panic Button’s official announcement.
The band’s third album, “Good to Be with You,” showcased Mo’s vocal skills developed throughout her training and early career.
The partnership between Mo Su-jin and Kim Seung-jae as lead vocalists was fundamental to Acoustic Collabo’s music.
Mo Su-jin’s journey to Acoustic Collabo was unique. While initially training as an idol, she struggled with dance but showed a natural talent for singing. Following her vocal teacher’s advice, she shifted her focus to singing and discovered Acoustic Collabo’s music.
Her path to joining the band started when she posted a social media cover of “It’s Strange, With You,” a song by The Ade. Unknowingly, her post coincided with the band’s auditions. The company officials noticed her video, and after a successful audition, she outperformed nearly 1,600 other applicants to become Acoustic Collabo’s third-generation vocalist.
In addition to her work with the group, Mo pursued a solo career under the stage name “Cloudy,” releasing tracks including “Flight,” “Fade Away,” “Be My Love,” and “Your Universe.”
In the aftermath of her death, her Instagram account and YouTube videos were temporarily made private but were restored on January 29. A cat, believed to have been her pet, also had its social media account set to private.
