Chad Spodick, a reality television personality who appeared on the 2016 dating series “Finding Prince Charming,” has died at age 42 in Boca Raton, Florida. Authorities have ruled his death a suicide, though the police case remains open.
A spokesperson for the Boca Raton police department confirmed the cause of death but provided no further details about the ongoing investigation.
Spodick’s death was announced through a GoFundMe page created by his friend Kate Werbowski to raise funds for funeral expenses and support his mother, Felice Harwood. The campaign described his passing as sudden and heartbreaking.
“Our hearts are shattered as we share the devastating news of the loss of our beautiful, kind, and generous son, brother and friend Chad,” Werbowski wrote. “His passing was sudden and heartbreaking, and we are still struggling to comprehend a world without his light.”
The fundraising page emphasized Spodick’s compassionate nature and devotion to others. He was remembered for lifting up his friends and encouraging everyone around him to grow and advocate for themselves. His love for animals was particularly noted, as he cared deeply for his four dogs and his bird, Cosmo.
The GoFundMe campaign was established to help cover funeral and memorial costs, immediate living expenses for his mother, and care needs for his pets. The fundraiser has raised between $27,000 and $29,000 toward a $35,000 goal.
A memorial service was held December 14, 2025, at The Gardens of Boca Raton.
Spodick gained recognition when he competed on “Finding Prince Charming,” a one-season Logo TV dating show that aired in 2016. The series, hosted by Lance Bass, featured 13 contestants vying for the affections of Robert Sepúlveda Jr.
After six weeks on the show, Spodick self-eliminated. Following his departure, he accused Sepúlveda of pursuing contestants after filming concluded, despite the lead selecting Eric Leonardos as his final choice.
“The world was brighter with Chad in it, and those who were lucky enough to know him felt the warmth of his heart every day,” the GoFundMe statement noted.
Beyond reality television, Spodick worked in the airline industry for over 20 years. He also had a brief acting career in the early 2000s, appearing in Law & Order in 2000.
Friends and fans responded to news of his death by leaving condolences on his social media accounts. His final Instagram post was shared November 21, 2025, and featured images from his work travels and time with his pets.
Spodick is survived by his mother, who now faces not only the grief of losing her son but also unexpected financial burdens related to funeral arrangements and ongoing expenses. The community response through the fundraising campaign reflects the impact he had on those who knew him.
