Brazilian influencer Bárbara Jankavski, known online as “Boneca Desumana” or “inhuman doll,” passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in São Paulo, Brazil, at the age of 31. Known as the “Human Barbie,” Jankavski gained a significant following by documenting her journey through multiple cosmetic procedures on social media.
Jankavski had 55,000 followers on Instagram and 344,000 on TikTok, where she shared details about her cosmetic surgeries, totaling at least 27. Her final post on social media, featuring influencer Avós Da Razão, was uploaded on October 1. She had not posted for over a month before her death.
According to a police report accessed by CNN Brasil, 51-year-old public defender Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto reported hiring Jankavski for sexual services on the night of her death. He alleged that both he and Jankavski used illicit substances during their time together at a São Paulo residence.
De Vitto noticed Jankavski had become unresponsive while sleeping and contacted São Paulo’s Mobile Emergency Care Service. He followed CPR instructions for about nine minutes until medical personnel arrived. Despite these actions, paramedics declared her deceased upon their arrival.
The São Paulo State Military Police found Jankavski’s body clad only in underwear, with an injury to her left eye and marks on her back. A friend of de Vitto present that day informed the police that the facial injury was due to a slip and fall earlier.
The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat has ordered an autopsy and toxicology tests to ascertain the cause of death. The case is recorded as suspicious, with investigations ongoing to clarify the circumstances of her death.
Jankavski’s passing prompted numerous tributes from fans and fellow influencers in the comments on her last Instagram post. Avós Da Razão, featured in her last video, commented: “How sad. Rest in peace, flower.”
Fans expressed shock and sadness at the news. One follower wrote about finding solace in Jankavski’s content: “Rest in peace diva, you lived a bit of the life that I always wanted, that comforts us a bit.” Another highlighted their enjoyment of her energy and videos.
Additional tributes emphasized her impact. One follower expressed astonishment at the news, mentioning how they enjoyed her videos. Another noted disbelief, saying they saw the news on TikTok and visited Instagram to verify, expressing sadness and appreciation for her content.
Jankavski’s distinctive look and commitment to cosmetic enhancement earned her the “Human Barbie” title among followers and in media coverage. Her Brazilian social media name, “Boneca Desumana,” mirrored the doll-like image she portrayed.
The circumstances of Jankavski’s death have raised questions about the events of November 2. Marks on her body and de Vitto’s admission of substance use have made this case a priority for São Paulo authorities. Police continue to collect evidence and await medical examination results for clarity on the events leading to her death.
As the investigation continues, the toxicology results and autopsy findings will be crucial in determining the official cause of death. The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat has not released further information pending the completion of these tests and the ongoing investigation into the suspicious circumstances of the case.
