Melania Trump’s Strange Schedule Sparks Ridicule

First Lady Melania Trump will tour Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House with Queen Camilla while President Donald Trump conducts political meetings with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during their state visit to the United Kingdom from September 16-18, 2025.

The first lady’s itinerary includes examining the historic dollhouse at Windsor Castle and visiting with Squirrel Scouts on Thursday, September 18, as part of what will be the Trumps’ second state visit to Britain. Meanwhile, the president and Starmer will travel to the Prime Minister’s country residence at Chequers to discuss matters of national interest.

Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House was constructed for Queen Mary of Teck and completed in 1924. The miniature replica features working lights and plumbing, along with an impressive library containing original stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and A.A. Milne. The famous dollhouse celebrated its 100th birthday in 2024.

While Melania examines the dollhouse, Trump and Starmer will participate in closed-door meetings, attend a business reception hosted by Chancellor Rachel Reeves, and hold a joint press conference. The Daily Beast reported that the White House has touted how this unprecedented second state visit will “highlight and renew the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.”

Princess Kate and Melania Trump will make their first joint public appearance during the visit. On September 18, the Princess of Wales and the first lady will step out together at Frogmore Gardens in Windsor, where they will join UK Chief Scout Dwayne Fields and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels program. The children will explore nature while earning their “Go Wild” badge during the visit.

Kate, who served as a Brownie as a child, has been Joint President of the Scout Association since 2020. The princess has cited nature as a source of support during her cancer treatment in 2024. She announced in March 2024 that she was receiving cancer treatment, completed chemotherapy in September, and shared in January 2025 that she is in remission.

The state visit began with Prince William and Kate greeting the Trumps upon their arrival at the grounds of Windsor Castle on September 17. The royal couple accompanied them to meet King Charles and Queen Camilla for a formal welcome ceremony. Following the greeting, all six participated in a carriage procession through Windsor to the castle, where a Guard of Honor inspection and military march past took place.

King Charles hosted lunch in the State Dining Room of the castle, featuring a special display of items from the Royal Collection relating to the United States. The king, Queen Camilla, and other royal family members will host a state banquet at Windsor Castle, which may include tiara appearances for Queen Camilla and Princess Kate.

This marks the first time in modern memory that an elected political leader has been invited for two state visits by a British sovereign. The late Queen Elizabeth previously hosted Trump and his wife for a state visit in June 2019 during his first administration, which included a state banquet at Buckingham Palace attended by the future King Charles, Camilla, William, and Kate.

Sources close to the visit indicated that Trump and the first lady are pleased with Kate’s prominent role throughout their UK journey. The inclusion of the Princess of Wales in multiple events during the state visit was confirmed only recently due to her health situation following her cancer treatment.

The president and first lady are staying at Windsor Castle throughout their visit, according to reports. They will also privately place a wreath on the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II at St. George’s Chapel, followed by a brief tour of the chapel and a musical performance by the chapel choir.

The visit is expected to include discussions between Trump and Starmer regarding tariffs, the war in Ukraine, and the conflict in Gaza. On Monday, September 16, activists from a group called “Everyone Hates Elon” protested the president’s arrival by unveiling a massive flag featuring a photograph of Trump and Jeffrey Epstein on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Major protests are anticipated throughout the visit, with thousands expected to participate in demonstrations organized by the Stop Trump Coalition. Protesters plan to gather on Windsor high street on Tuesday evening, followed by a march through central London ending with a rally in Parliament Square. Enhanced security measures have been implemented for the visit, with police plans under daily review due to the high threat level.
