Trump Family Member Lands at FOX

Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump and wife of Eric Trump, will host a new weekend primetime program on Fox News Channel starting February 22, 2025. The show, “My View with Lara Trump,” will air on Saturdays from 9-10 PM ET.

“I’m thrilled to bring my voice back to Fox News, talk directly with the American people, and highlight what makes this country so great,” Trump said in a statement announcing her return to the network.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott described Trump as “a gifted communicator who knows how to connect to the viewers, successful entrepreneur, and working mother” with an “innate understanding of the American public and today’s political landscape.” Scott emphasized that Trump’s perspective would be “a compelling addition to our weekend lineup.”

The program will focus on “the return of common sense to all corners of American life as the country ushers in a new era of practicality.” It will feature big-picture analysis and interviews with thought leaders on headlines driving the national conversation, particularly those affecting families nationwide.

Trump’s media experience includes serving as a Fox News contributor from 2021 to 2022 and hosting a web series called “The Right View” since 2020. Her previous television experience includes working as a producer on “Inside Edition.”

The appointment is notable as it marks the first time an immediate family member of a sitting president has hosted their own show on a major television news network while the politician was in office. Previous examples of presidential relatives in television include Jenna Bush Hager joining NBC’s “Today” show and Chelsea Clinton working at NBC News. However, both took these roles after their fathers’ presidencies ended.

Trump’s political career has been extensive. She served as a senior advisor to Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign, where she led the “Women for Trump” initiative. In December 2024, she resigned as co-chair of the Republican National Committee, stating that the “job I came to do is now complete.” Earlier that year, she was rumored to be under consideration as a senate replacement for now-Secretary of State Marco Rubio but withdrew herself from consideration.

Beyond politics and media, Trump has pursued a music career, releasing a cover of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” in September 2023, which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart. She followed this with an original song titled “Hero” in 2024.

The program will replace “One Nation with Brian Kilmeade,” which will move to Sundays at 10 p.m. ET. Fox News continues to lead cable news ratings, having recorded its highest-rated January since its 1996 founding. The network has maintained close ties with the Trump administration, serving as the former president’s preferred outlet for mainstream media interviews during his 2024 campaign.
