Trump’s “New” Hairdo Goes Viral

After debuting a new hairdo at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, President-elect Donald Trump has become the center of attention this week.

The president-elect, 78, was seen sporting a significantly flatter hairstyle that was devoid of his characteristic orange shade and voluminous waves.

A video shared by pro-Trump influencer Michael Solakiewicz showed Trump interacting with supporters while donning a branded polo shirt and his fresh hairstyle. He joked with the crowd, asking, “Is everybody having a good time?” and then, “Is everybody a Republican?”

The noticeable shift in Trump’s looks has led to comparisons with his youngest son, Barron Trump, who recently started his college journey at New York University in New York City. Barron, who turned 18 in March 2024, has kept a neat, timeless hairdo during his adolescence.

Trump’s experimentation with his signature appearance is not a new phenomenon. He made headlines in 2019 when he sported slicked-back hair during a church visit in Virginia. His former hairdresser has disclosed that Trump tends to his hair himself, with family members taking care of his hair cutting and coloring needs as opposed to professional hair stylists.

Trump has been consistent in maintaining that his hair is real. In a 2013 social media post, he asserted, “As everybody knows, but the haters and losers refuse to acknowledge, I do not wear a ‘wig.’ My hair may not be perfect but it’s mine.”

According to Gwenda Blair’s book on the Trump family, Donald’s father, Fred Christ Trump, was known for coloring his hair red with shades of magenta during his later years and wore his hair longer than what was common for men in the 1940s. This suggests that the Trump family’s interest in hair styling may run in the family.

Trump’s latest hairstyle has received varied responses on social media. While some compared him to “an angry grandpa at a country club,” others were more appreciative, envisioning themselves asking for the “Trump 2025 look” at their next hair salon appointment.

Some comments were critical of his new look, while others drew parallels with other political figures. One supporter, however, expressed approval, stating, “I Like it! Trump is always willing to try new things!”

Some offered practical reasons for the change in Trump’s appearance. One individual pointed out, “People, he just played a round of golf with a hat on. Hats do that to hair. Not a new look. Guaranteed.”

Trump’s relationship with his unique hairstyle has been a topic of public curiosity for years, spanning his early career in real estate to his presidency. In a 2011 interview with Rolling Stone, he addressed accusations of sporting a combover, insisting he has been styling his hair the same way for years.
