Popular Actor Risks Career Supporting Trump

During an event in Michigan on September 28, actor Zachary Levi, known for his role in the film Shazam!, publicly endorsed former US President Donald Trump. Levi shared the platform with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, acknowledging the potential risk his endorsement might pose to his career in Hollywood, a traditionally liberal sphere. He referred to his decision as “career suicide,” yet affirmed his commitment to it.

Levi stated his belief that Trump is the leader who can guide the nation to a positive future. He said, “We have two choices, and I believe Donald Trump, President Trump, is the man that can get us there.” Ahead of the 2024 elections, Levi aligned himself with Trump and acknowledged the influence of Gabbard and Kennedy in his decision-making. “He’s going to get us there because he’s going to have the backing and support and the wisdom of people like Robert Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard,” Levi explained.

After his endorsement, Levi reported that the majority of the responses he received were positive. He said, “The messages that I received have actually been quite lovely and supportive,” suggesting his fanbase was largely supportive of his decision, despite his expectation of backlash within his industry.

Prior to his endorsement of Trump, the Shazam! star had expressed support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the 2024 presidential race. However, after Kennedy suspended his campaign, Levi shifted his support to Trump. “In a perfect world… perhaps I would have voted for Bobby,” Levi said. Yet, in the absence of Kennedy, he saw Trump as the only viable candidate to “take back this country.”

Levi expressed serious concerns about the current course of the nation, suggesting it had been “hijacked” and was on a dangerous path. His remarks reflect a broader disillusionment with government and institutional power, a sentiment echoed by many conservatives and Trump supporters. These political views, while not commonly expressed in Hollywood, are consistent with Levi’s previous public statements.

In the past, Levi has faced criticism for his outspoken views, particularly those concerning public health and government regulation. For instance, in January 2023, he faced backlash after agreeing with a tweet questioning the integrity of Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company responsible for a COVID-19 vaccine.

At the event in Michigan, Levi reiterated his distrust of the pharmaceutical industry and mainstream media, suggesting that Americans are “being poisoned and lied to” by institutions controlling the narrative. He voiced his frustration with perceived manipulation through food, pharmaceuticals, and media, urging citizens to remain alert.

“We are being poisoned and lied to, not just in the foods that we’re eating or the pharmaceuticals that are being shoved down our throats, but in the media that we’re consuming,” Levi asserted, suggesting the public is being misled on multiple fronts.

Levi concluded his address by urging supporters to refrain from engaging in political hatred and negativity. “Do not be baited into their hate,” he advised, highlighting the need for patience, grace, and forgiveness as the country moves toward the 2024 election.

Levi’s endorsement of Trump distinguishes him from many of his colleagues in the entertainment industry. Whether his prediction of “career suicide” will come to pass is yet to be seen. Regardless, Levi remains steadfast in his decision, encouraging others to vote according to their beliefs.
