The search for 53-year-old Lisa Culp came to a tragic end on October 5, 2024, when she was found dead on a freeway, a day after being reported missing by her husband. Authorities are investigating her death as a suspected hit-and-run incident.
Culp left her home in Chino, California early on October 4. At around 9:13 a.m., her husband reported her missing. Following her disappearance, local police began an extensive search, checking hospitals, parks, and other locations around the area. “Chino Police personnel reviewed surveillance footage from the area and observed Culp walking away from the gas station in the early morning hours of October 4 and heading northbound on Central Avenue,” the Chino Police Department reported.
Her 2010 silver Mercedes sedan was abandoned at a gas station near the 60 Freeway. After reviewing surveillance footage, police observed Culp leaving the station on foot. The footage prompted further investigation, leading authorities to expand their search the following day, utilizing drones and off-highway vehicles to locate her.
On October 5, authorities discovered Culp’s body on the 60 Freeway. “During the search, officers discovered the body of a deceased female on the freeway, which appeared to have been involved in a traffic collision,” law enforcement officials confirmed.
The circumstances surrounding Culp’s death remain under investigation, and authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward. The Chino Police Department has stated that while the details surrounding Culp’s disappearance are still being examined, there is currently no suspicion of foul play.
Still processing the sudden loss, Culp’s family expressed gratitude for the support they received during the search. Her niece, Lana Culp, posted on social media a photo of her aunt with a heartfelt message: “We love you, Aunt Lisa.”
