He observed people seeking cover behind and under vehicles. Authorities are currently examining security footage from the locality in an effort to identify the assailants.
A friend, also grazed by a bullet, rushed Eslami to the hospital. Doctors informed him that the bullet had passed dangerously close to vital arteries, missing by mere millimeters. Overwhelmed by his narrow escape, Eslami expressed his gratitude for surviving the incident with minor injuries while acknowledging the tragic loss of those who did not.
The Birmingham Police Department is leading the investigation, with assistance from the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. They are appealing to witnesses and businesses with security footage to come forward and aid the ongoing investigation.
The involvement of the FBI indicates potential federal charges against the suspects, particularly given the employment of an illegal automatic weapon. Law enforcement is investigating the possibility of a machine gun conversion device being used, which can illegally transform a semi-automatic firearm into an automatic one.
