Famed country singer Carrie Underwood faced an unexpected event after her concert at the Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. After an engaging performance on the rainy night of June 9, Underwood tripped and fell while exiting the stage.
Despite the inclement weather, 41-year-old Underwood delivered a remarkable performance. As she rounded off her act with the popular “Before He Cheats,” the rain began to pour heavily. In the ensuing chaos, she slipped on the wet stairs while heading offstage, a moment captured on video that prompted immediate reactions from the audience.
Exemplifying professionalism, Underwood addressed the incident the next day on her social media platforms. She posted about the incident with a blend of humor and grace, saying, “Well, last night sure was fun! And though the ending was quite unexpected, it made for a night we’ll never forget!”
This isn’t Underwood’s first brush with an accidental fall. In 2017, she had a serious fall outside her Nashville, Tennessee home, resulting in a broken wrist and more than 40 stitches on her face. She spoke about this incident in 2018, highlighting the substantial physical toll it had on her. Nonetheless, such incidents have not dissuaded her from continuing to perform live, demonstrating her resolve and dedication to her fanbase.
At this year’s Carolina Country Music Fest, where the recent incident took place, there were over 35,000 attendees. Underwood’s headline performance was a key attraction, with fans looking forward to hearing favorites such as “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Good Girl,” in addition to “Before He Cheats.”
Attendees’ responses were largely supportive, with many commending Underwood for her dedication and her ability to carry on with the show amid challenging conditions. One concertgoer expressed, “That’s commitment and dedication to the fans that put her there. No one else like her,” reflecting the admiration many fans have for her resilience.
