A couple in Jamestown, New York is facing serious charges after their child fell from a second-story window early Wednesday morning, prompting concerns about child safety and living conditions in the area.
Officers arrived at a residence on the city’s west side shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in response to an emergency call. Emergency services were called to assist a child who fell from a second-story window. The child, whose age has not been disclosed, was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The parents, Max P. Hubbard, 26, and Breanne Fuller, 22, were found inside the home along with their two other children, a toddler and an infant. Police described the home as being in “deplorable condition,” raising alarms about the overall living environment for the children.
An investigation revealed that the child who fell had allegedly been locked in a room overnight with an open window and no parental supervision. The situation posed significant risks, though the child only suffered minor injuries.
Hubbard and Fuller face three charges of child endangerment and are currently in custody, awaiting their arraignment at Jamestown City Court. These charges highlight the severity of the allegations and the potential danger to all three children in their care.
Jamestown City Court Judge Michael Reynolds presided over the initial hearing. “The safety and well-being of children must always be paramount,” Reynolds stated during the proceedings. “These allegations, if proven true, represent a serious breach of parental responsibility.”
Investigators are continuing their investigation into the living conditions at the Hubbard and Fuller residence. Child protective services have also been notified and are involved in ensuring the safety and well-being of the other children in the home.
The community is urged to report neglect or unsafe living conditions to the appropriate authorities. Ensuring the safety of children remains a top priority for law enforcement and child welfare agencies.
