The New York community and fans worldwide are reeling from the tragic loss of 29-year-old TikTok star Eva Evans, who was found dead in her Manhattan apartment last weekend. Known for her vibrant depiction of city life and her original content on TikTok, Evans left a lasting impression on her followers and the digital community.

Late Saturday night, April 20, 2024, a friend who had not seen Evans since Friday morning used a key to enter her apartment only to discover a heart-wrenching scene. According to law enforcement sources, Evans was found hanging, an apparent suicide with no signs of a struggle or unusual injuries reported at the scene.

The police and paramedics were called immediately upon the discovery, and Evans was pronounced dead at the scene. The unexpected nature of the incident shocked those close to her, especially since the friend mentioned to the police that there were no known signs of depression or emotional disturbance in Evans, which made this tragic event even more surprising.

A note was found close to where the victim was found.  The contents of the note left by Evans have not been disclosed. The investigation awaits toxicology results to determine the cause of death officially.

Evans was a prolific creator, best known for her web series ‘Club Rat’ on Amazon Prime Video, which explored the nuances of the modern dating scene in New York City. Her platform extended to more than 300,000 followers on TikTok, where she shared snippets of her daily life and personal insights.

Her sister, Lila Joy Baumgardner, took to social media to express her profound grief, highlighting the suddenness and deep personal loss the family experienced. “Even after 24 hours have passed, I’m still struggling with a constant cycle of disbelief and acknowledgment,” Baumgardner admitted, highlighting the enduring challenge of processing her sister’s unexpected death.

Friends and celebrities alike have publicly expressed their condolences. Actress Julia Fox, known for her role in “Uncut Gems,” referred to Evans as a “New York icon” in a TikTok video. She expressed her sense of loss, describing Evans as someone she viewed as a younger sister who looked up to her. Reflecting on Evans’ untimely passing, Fox emphasized her youthfulness and the potential she had yet to fulfill. Similarly, Lo Bosworth, a former cast member of “The Hills,” left a heartfelt comment on Evans’ final social media post, bidding farewell to the “angel Eva” and acknowledging her kindness, which stood out amidst any indifference from others.

Despite not being overtly vocal about her own mental struggles, Evans had engaged in advocacy for mental health. She once shared the painful story of her father’s suicide in 2018 through the organization ‘Don’t Mind Me’, highlighting her personal connection to the issue of mental health awareness.

A celebration of life was organized in lower Manhattan, where family, friends, and fans gathered to honor her memory and say their goodbyes.

The announcement of Eva Evans’ passing was made almost one week following the death of Kyle Marisa Roth, another prominent TikTok influencer renowned for her videos about Hollywood gossip.
