Hillary Clinton’s Dance Moves Go Viral

During a recent visit to Spain on January 19, 2024, former U.S. Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had an unusual experience added to her public life narrative.

Clinton broke away from her traditional political engagements when she was captured on video trying to dance “La Macarena” with the song’s original artists, Los del Rio, at a celebration in Seville.

This jovial event took place following her diplomatic meeting with Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, in Madrid.

The Palacio de Dueñas, a historical site dating back to the late 16th century, was the setting for the party which was arranged in Clinton’s honor.

Interestingly, this event also marked the 30th anniversary of “La Macarena,” a song that has a significant place in political history, as it was frequently played at Democratic Party events in the 1990s, during Bill Clinton’s presidential campaigns.

Clinton was seen in an Instagram video being encouraged onto the dance floor by Los del Rio.

Despite her best efforts, Clinton’s unfamiliarity with the dance steps was evident, a fact that attracted the attention of Spanish media outlets, including The Olive Press.

The Olive Press humorously remarked on Clinton’s dance skills, highlighting the contrast between her high-profile political position and her light-hearted attempt at the dance.

The event was hosted by Eugenia Martínez de Irujo, Duchess of Montoro, and her husband Narcís Rebollo, President of Universal Music Spain.

Notable Spanish artists and performers, including David Bisbal, Pablo López, and Vanesa Martín, were among the guests, underscoring the cultural significance of the event.

Although Clinton’s dance moves were not technically perfect, her attempt was warmly received by the attendees. This participation in a cultural event offered a glimpse into a more personal side of Clinton, distinct from her well-known political persona.

The Palacio de Dueñas served as a fitting venue for the gathering, where politics, music, and entertainment intersected.

Still a favorite at parties and events, “La Macarena” continues to be appreciated for its catchy rhythm and distinctive dance.
