Versatile Actor Tom Wilkinson Dies at 75

Renowned British actor, Tom Wilkinson, has passed away at his residence at the age of 75, surrounded by his family. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

His illustrious career includes prominent roles in “The Full Monty,” “Michael Clayton,” “In the Bedroom,” and “Batman Begins.” He received the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor for his role in “The Full Monty,” a 1997 comedy in which he portrayed a former steelworker who becomes a male stripper.

Wilkinson, born on December 5, 1948, in Leeds, West Yorkshire, fostered an interest in acting during his school years. He nurtured his skills at the University of Kent and further at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He began his career on stage before getting into television and film, cementing his status as a notable entity in the British entertainment sector.
