A fatal shooting took place at a McDonald’s outlet located on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard in southwest Atlanta, Georgia, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. The victim was a 30-year-old mother of four.
The police reported the shooting occurred around 3 p.m., resulting from a disagreement between the victim, identified as Tamanika Woods, and a 19-year-old named T’Niya Evans. This led to Woods being shot.
According to Atlanta Police Lieutenant Germain Dearlove, the shooting started from an escalating dispute among customers.
Witnesses have yet to confirm if the incident occurred inside or outside the fast-food chain. However, they reported that the accused was held by bystanders until the police arrived at the scene.
Woods was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries.
Evans was charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during a felony, and receiving stolen property. She was denied bond at her first court appearance on Friday, December 29, and is now held in Fulton County Jail.
A friend of Woods, who asked not to be named, described her as a humble and family-oriented woman. Recalling Woods, she said she was always associated with positive experiences and memories. Her death has left a profound impact on those who loved her.
Woods leaves behind four children, who will now be taken care of by family members.
