Car Crash Results in Four Teen Deaths

On Saturday, December 16, 2023, a car accident in Billings, Montana, resulted in the deaths of four teenagers.

The incident occurred in an industrial area before 2 am, with a car striking a metal pole.

The crash resulted in the deaths of Mikaylee Reiter and Zoey Harr, both 14, Weston Lyon, 17, and Storm Skaggs, 18. The Billings Police Department stated that two teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene, and two others died in the hospital due to their injuries.

Law enforcement’s initial investigation indicates that factors such as high speed, the non-use of seatbelts, and possible alcohol use played a role in the accident. The car is reported to have gone off the road, resulting in the driver losing control and crashing into the pole.

Community members gathered at the crash site, placing flowers and notes on a board attached to the pole.

Ryan Pitman, a friend of the victims, mentioned he had earlier dropped off two of the girls at one of the victim’s homes. He was in a different car accident that night and was in the hospital during the fatal crash. Pitman, whose father is a former county commissioner, shared his reflections on the loss.

The investigation by the Billings Police Department into the crash is ongoing.
