A 35-year-old mother of two tragically fell from the 36th floor of The Brittany, an upscale apartment complex on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The incident occurred on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
According to law enforcement sources, Alina Page had a heated argument with her husband, Brian Page, moments before her fall.
The argument reportedly centered around her drinking habits. Her husband, who is an orthopedic surgeon, claimed he was not present at the time of the incident and refrained from commenting on the nature of their dispute.
In a statement to The Post, Brian Page expressed his grief, referring to his wife as “the love of my life, my soulmate,” and stating he is “devastated” by the loss. The couple was nearing their 16th wedding anniversary, just 11 days short at the time of the incident.
Alina Page was discovered with injuries consistent with a high fall on the corner of York Avenue and East 92nd Street around 6:45 p.m. She was rushed to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition, where she died from her injuries.
Residents and sources familiar with The Brittany, which is located just blocks from Gracie Mansion and known for its panoramic water views of the East and Harlem rivers, described the building as having extensive safety measures. These measures include a railing on the roof that is reportedly at least 4 feet tall and windows designed with child safety features that do not fully open.
The Pages, who moved from Temple, Texas to New York City in 2021, lived a seemingly contented life.
Alina Page, originally from Russia, frequently shared images on Facebook, showcasing her smiling alongside her young children.
The New York Police Department has not officially labeled the incident as a suicide. Her death remains under investigation by the authorities.
