Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller turned himself in to police in Glenn Heights, Texas, on November 30, following the issuance of an arrest warrant in connection with an alleged assault on a pregnant woman.

The incident, which took place in Dallas, Texas, has drawn attention due to Miller’s prominence in the NFL.

Dallas police responded to a call on November 29 concerning a verbal argument at a condominium in Uptown Dallas. According to police reports, the dispute between Miller and the woman, who is six weeks pregnant, escalated to physical assault. The victim reported sustaining minor injuries but was not hospitalized.

Details of the alleged incident reveal that the argument between Miller and the victim revolved around travel plans. Miller is accused of shoving the woman, applying pressure to her neck, pulling her hair, and damaging her laptop. The victim, who remains unidentified, shared with the police a video recording of the altercation and text messages discussing her pregnancy.

Miller, 34, originally from DeSoto, Texas, surrendered himself to the Glenn Heights Police Department and was subsequently transferred to the DeSoto Regional Jail. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond.

The charge against Miller is “Assault of a Pregnant Person,” a third-degree felony in Texas.

The Buffalo Bills and the NFL have acknowledged the incident, stating they are in the process of gathering more information. The NFL has a zero-tolerance policy for domestic violence, which could lead to a suspension of up to six games under its guidelines.

Von Miller, an eight-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time first-team All-Pro, is well-known in the football community. He played college football at Texas A&M and has been a part of two Super Bowl-winning teams — the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Rams. In Super Bowl 50, Miller was named the MVP. Off the field, he hosts “The Voncast” on Bleacher Report.

This incident has brought forth a conversation on domestic violence within professional sports. The NFL’s policy on such matters could impact Miller’s future in the league, depending on the outcome of the investigation. The case continues to unfold, with the Dallas police leading the investigation.
