A 24-year-old mother and esteemed cheerleading coach from Jasper, Texas, was found lifeless by the police.
In the early morning of Saturday, November 18, 2023, the body of Rosalin “RoRo” Lewis was discovered at her Jasper residence in the Myrtis Village apartments.
Lewis, notable for her dedication to cheerleading and her role in shaping young lives in Jasper, was found to have suffered a fatal beating.
Following their investigation into the incident, the Jasper Police Department arrested 23-year-old William Christian Thomas of Livingston, identified as her boyfriend. Thomas has been charged with her murder and is being held at Jasper County Jail with a bond of $1 million.
The nature of the crime, described as a brutal hammer attack, has compounded the community’s grief and disbelief. Lewis, renowned for her vibrant energy and commitment to coaching, is mourned by her three children, Kaelum, five, Aria, three, and two-year-old Alakai.
The funeral service was held on November 25 at Faith Temple Church, Pollard Street in Jasper, organized by Coleman’s Mortuary.
In response to the tragedy, the Jasper community has united in mourning and support, with calls for prayers and aid for the bereaved family.
The Jasper Police Department is continuing its investigation and has yet to release more details about the circumstances of Lewis’s passing.
