In Gulfport, Mississippi, a woman was savagely assaulted in her residence.
On November 8, 2023, responding to an urgent call, Gulfport police found a woman with over 50 stab wounds inflicted on her face and body.
The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Nicholas Leshaun Unger, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault following the incident. The altercation began outside the victim’s residence on the 15000 block of Government Street. The situation escalated when Unger followed the woman into her home. He grabbed a knife and started his attack, relentlessly stabbing her.
The woman’s daughter intervened, temporarily allowing her mother to seek refuge in the bedroom. Despite her efforts, Unger managed to break into the room, where he continued his assault.
The victim was promptly transported to a hospital, where she was reported to be in critical but stable condition. Unger was arrested and taken into custody. He remains detained at the Harrison County jail, with his bond set at $250,000.
