Jamie Foxx Denies Sexual Assault Allegations

Jamie Foxx, an Academy Award winner, is currently facing legal challenges due to sexual assault allegations from August 2015.

The complainant, known only as Jane Doe, alleges that Foxx committed non-consensual and inappropriate physical acts at Catch NYC, a rooftop establishment in Manhattan, New York.

The lawsuit, lodged on November 22, 2023, claims that Foxx, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, coerced the woman to a secluded spot on the rooftop, where he is accused of groping her and making uninvited sexual advances.

Jane Doe’s legal documentation alleges that Foxx fondled her breasts under her clothing and uttered inappropriate comments. The suit also accuses Foxx of non-consensual contact with her private areas. A security guard is said to have been present during the incident but did not intervene.

Foxx, 55, strongly denies the charges, calling the lawsuit “frivolous.”

A spokesperson for Foxx said, ”The alleged incident never happened. In 2020, this individual filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Brooklyn.”

The lawsuit extends beyond Foxx, also implicating Catch Hospitality Group and other associated organizations.

Invoking New York’s Adult Survivors Act, this case allows for the prosecution of sexual abuse allegations past the normal statute of limitations, offering adult victims a chance for legal recourse.

Jamie Foxx, renowned for his diverse roles in Hollywood as an actor, singer, songwriter, comedian, and talk show host, has been lauded for his work in film and television. He earned critical acclaim and an Oscar for his role as Ray Charles in “Ray” (2004) and is also recognized for his roles in “Django Unchained” (2012) and “Collateral” (2004). His television career includes the popular sitcom “The Jamie Foxx Show,” which he starred in from 1996 to 2001. In addition to acting, Foxx has secured three Grammy Awards for his musical endeavors.

This lawsuit presents a notable contrast to Foxx’s well-established public persona, highlighting the prevalent concerns of sexual misconduct in the entertainment world. Jane Doe is seeking damages for her pain, emotional distress, anxiety, humiliation, and related medical treatment.
