Cincinnati, Ohio, was brutally disrupted by bullets that led to the death of an 11-year-old boy and left five others victims of the incident.
Panic set in in the West End of Cincinnati around 9:30 pm on November 3, 2023, as nearby residents dialed into the Cincinnati Police Department, alerting them to a troubling 22 shots fired in quick succession.
Among the victims of the abrupt outbreak of violence was Dominic Davis, an 11-year-old boy whose life was ended at the scene. Others injured – children aged 12 to 15, and a 53-year-old woman – were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Three victims were taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, with two more admitted to the University of Cincinnati Hospital, all in critical condition.
In response to the tragic incident, the officers of the Cincinnati Police Department have publicly shared bodycam footage taken during the event, asserting their commitment to transparency even as the city battles the surging tide of violence.
In the aftermath of the shots, Isaac Davis, Dominic’s father, made an impassioned plea during a press conference, beseeching the community to help bring the culprits to justice. This sentiment was mirrored by Cincinnati City Manager Sheryl Long, who has faced the horrors of gun violence in her own family.
Speaking against the violence were Police Chief Teresa Theetge and Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval. Chief Theetge encouraged the perpetrators to surrender and underlined the police department’s unwavering dedication to justice.
Investigators are now piecing together evidence, appealing to the public for any information that could help break the case.
