On Friday, October 20, officials in Sanford, Florida, discovered the bodies of two five-year-old twins inside a home shortly after the death of their mother, who had jumped from a bridge.
The twins have been identified as Ahmad and Ava Jackson.
The mother, Catorreia Hutto, aged 31, was identified when her body was pulled from under the State Road 417 bridge over Lake Jesup. The specific events or reasons that might have led her to this act remain unknown. Initial evaluations from investigators suggest that Hutto might have been responsible for her children’s deaths before she chose to take her own life.
When Hutto’s body was found, a well-being check was initiated at her residence. During this inspection, deputies found Ahmad and Ava, no longer alive, in their bunk beds. There was a firearm located in the children’s room. However, there weren’t any signs that it was used on the children.
The authorities are still looking into the circumstances surrounding Hutto’s decisions. As the inquiry progresses, officials are considering every possible scenario to piece together the actual events.
