A 17-month-old toddler was found dead in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, following a suspected animal attack.
On Monday, September 18, Da’Angelo Manning and a four-year-old companion left their residence on Winkler Road, situated near Haynesville, Louisiana. By 10 am, a missing report was filed for the children.
The police, responding quickly, located the four-year-old with minor injuries. Pafford Emergency Medical Services attended to the child, who was then released to a guardian.
Da’Angelo’s body was later found in an area north of Kendrick Springs Road, distinguished by its recently cleared trees.
The police, in their initial assessment, believe that an animal may have been involved in Manning’s death. The exact type of animal remains undetermined, and the investigative process continues. The toddler’s body has been directed to undergo an autopsy, as verified by local news sources.
Several organizations have been acknowledged by Claiborne Parish Sheriff Sam Dowies for their invaluable assistance in the operations. The list includes the Louisiana State Police, David Wade Correctional Center, volunteer fire brigades from the region, and Pafford Ambulance Service.
To address the financial requirements of the funeral, Evelyn Ayala, who is related to the child, established a GoFundMe page. The campaign has made significant progress, collecting over $2,000 of its $10,000 goal.
Angelica Márquez, Da’Angelo’s mother, has shared memories of her son on social media platforms. She recalled special times with him from his early days and expressed her profound connection to him, also shedding light on the emotional challenges she’s facing.
