On Thursday, October 26, an Iowa grandmother was attacked and stabbed by her daughter and granddaughter at their family home after a feud.
Court documents reveal that the alleged perpetrators, Jessica Bino, 32, and Angela Bino, 59, committed the act in the apartment of the victim.
Initial reports suggest that on the night of the attack, Jessica Bino was having a heated verbal altercation with the victim Suzette Occhibone in the living room of her Sioux City apartment, Iowa. The conflict escalated when Angela Bino entered the room. What began as a verbal dispute soon turned into a physical assault. Both women, mother and daughter, reportedly began attacking the elderly Occhibone with their fists.
Angela Bino then allegedly used a glass candlestick as a weapon, striking Occhibone in the face six times. She is also believed to have hit the victim with a hammer in her face and arms. In the midst of this, Jessica Bino reportedly went into the kitchen, retrieving a butcher knife. She then proceeded to stab Occhibone several times in the head, chest, and face.
A witness later recounted seeing both Jessica and Angela Bino dragging Occhibone’s body toward their vehicle in an apparent attempt to put the victim in the trunk of the car. By the time authorities arrived at the scene, they found Occhibone, who was pronounced dead.
Both alleged attackers, Jessica Bino and Angela Bino, were found by the police inside the apartment. They were arrested and are now facing charges of first-degree murder. As of the latest reports, they are being held in jail with a bond set at $500,000 each. They are scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on November 6.
