On Wednesday, September 20, in Prescott, Arizona, a 62-year-old woman violently confronted her husband about his demands for a divorce.
Christina Pasqualetto drove from Gilbert to the Prescott home she previously shared with her estranged husband, Jon Pasqualetto, 80, which he now occupies alone.
Upon arriving shortly before midnight, the couple engaged in a heated verbal disagreement about their divorce. While Christina was against finalizing the divorce, her husband expressed his unwavering intention to proceed. The disagreement escalated, and Christina allegedly produced a handgun, shooting Jon while he was still in bed.
Despite his injury, Jon managed to knock the weapon from Christina’s hand and, in a bid to ensure his safety, fled to a neighbor’s house where he called 911. Jon’s gunshot wound on his wrist, was non-life-threatening. He received initial treatment at the scene and was subsequently transported to a local hospital. He was then airlifted to a medical facility in the Phoenix area.
Further investigations revealed more allegations against Christina. Jon informed officers that prior to the incident, he had changed the locks of their home. Yet, he discovered several keys and personal items missing. He also accused Christina of theft, alleging that she stole checks from him. He claimed one check had been forged by her for $10,000, which she later cashed.
In line with Jon’s allegations, police discovered a deposit slip in Christina’s possession that corroborated the transaction details of the check. During questioning, Christina admitted to both the forgery and theft.
Following the incident, Christina Pasqualetto was taken into custody at Yavapai County Jail. Her mugshot, displayed online, shows her grinning with two black eyes. She currently faces multiple charges, including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and forgery and theft.
