On Thursday, September 7, officials released the names of three individuals found dead at Whitebirch Resort in Breezy Point, Minnesota. The deceased were identified as Michael Charles Toner, 59, of Maple Grove; Melanie Michele Jansen, 54; and her daughter, Hannah Nicole Parmenter, 29, both from Elk River.
Investigators suspect Toner of killing both Jansen and Parmenter before taking his own life. The grim discovery was made at the resort, which is approximately 150 miles away from Minneapolis.
The bodies were found on Tuesday, September 5 at around 8:50 pm. Jansen’s son and his spouse, who had gone to visit, alerted the authorities. They had glanced through a window and, after seeing a disturbing scene and failing to get any reaction from inside the building, promptly made a 911 call.
Autopsies conducted on Wednesday, September 6 showed that both women had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Toner had a gunshot wound to his head. Crow Wing County Attorney, Donald Ryan, confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing.
