Authorities in Allen, Texas, approximately 30 miles north of Dallas, found a family of four deceased in their home on August 28. The incident is currently being treated as a suspected murder-suicide.
The family members were identified as Farman Sherwani, Layla Sherwani, Mateen (aged 2), and Shaheen (aged 12). Notably, this event occurred a few weeks after the family’s four-year-old daughter tragically drowned.
The recent loss, as stated by Sergeant Jonathan Maness of the Allen Police Department, is being assessed as a potential contributing factor.
The discovery came about after police intervention when access to the house was blocked for an extended period.
Following the incident, the Islamic Association of Allen organized a prayer vigil, with a substantial turnout. The circumstances surrounding the deaths are still under police investigation.
