A powerful explosion rocked the area near Tashkent’s international airport in Uzbekistan on Thursday, September 28, leading to one fatality and significant injuries.
Local authorities confirmed that a teenage boy died after a window frame, displaced by the blast’s force, fell on him.
Additionally, 162 people were injured. Of these, 24 were hospitalized following the incident for non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining 138 victims received treatment for various injuries.

Images and videos circulating on social media platforms showed flames shooting into the sky, with a thick cloud of smoke over a warehouse near the airport.
While the exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation, the emergency ministry has set up a specialized laboratory at the site to delve deeper into the incident. Their swift action helped in containing the fire and preventing it from spreading further.
