Neil Currey, Ex-Mr. Olympia Contestant, Passes Away at 34

Prominent figure in the world of bodybuilding, Neil Currey, who once contested for the prestigious title of Mr. Olympia, has tragically passed away at the age of 34.

The news of Currey’s untimely demise was revealed by Milos Sarcev, the renowned bodybuilder and trainer who had the privilege of working with him. Sarcev expressed his distress over the sudden loss.

Initially, Sarcev’s social media post sparked speculation regarding the cause of death, with some suggesting the possibility of suicide. However, recent modifications to the post have removed any clear references to the cause.

Neil Currey’s significant impact on the sport of bodybuilding has been acknowledged by Generation Iron, a well-known publication in the field. His debut at the 2017 World Championships was marked by a commendable fifth-place finish in the pro muscle bracket. Throughout his career, Currey graced many of the sport’s elite stages.

One of his notable achievements was securing the gold medal at the 2022 New York Pro, which earned a spot in the highly competitive 2022 Mr. Olympia competition. This achievement came just five years after turning professional.
