During a Labor Day rally on Monday, September 4, in Pennsylvania, President Biden emphasized his administration’s achievements in infrastructure.
In contrast, he mocked the former president Donald Trump as a real estate mogul who “didn’t build a damn thing.”
Biden never mentioned Trump by name, though everyone knew who he was talking about.
Biden pointed out that during Trump’s term, ‘Infrastructure Week’ was often joked about, whereas under Biden’s leadership, infrastructure has been a priority. During his speech, the President mentioned that Pennsylvania received $10 billion from the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law.
On economic matters, President Biden said that Trump’s economic policies only fueled an increase in US jobs being sent to China, but that his administration has been working on bringing those jobs back and has also taken steps to safeguard pensions. Biden said that Trump was the worst jobs president since the Great Depression and mocked his reputation as a real estate “mogul.”
The president also highlighted his connection to middle-class values, mentioning his ties to places like Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Claymont, Delaware. He addressed his nickname, “Middle-Class Joe,” suggesting that it signifies his dedication to the middle class and their hard work.
