Art Exhibit Reflects Actor’s Near Death Experience

In 2013, Shiv Grewal, a notable 60-year-old British actor, underwent a cardiac arrest, momentarily crossing the threshold between life and the afterlife. The event took place in southeast London after a meal with his wife, Alison.

For seven minutes, Grewal’s experience transcended the physical realm, leading him to describe feelings of being unanchored from his body, floating amidst celestial sights, and perceiving alternate realities. Through this, Grewal’s desire remained unchanged: to return to his present life with his wife.

Efficient medical intervention, encompassing an emergency operation and a subsequent coma, aided in Grewal’s revival. The medical crisis though, led to the onset of epilepsy due to reduced brain oxygen levels.

Compelled by this profound experience, Grewal channeled it into art. His collection “Reboot,” exhibited at the Karma Sanctum Soho hotel in London until September 24, serves as a visual narrative of his journey into the unknown.

After this significant event, Grewal’s approach to life is imbued with an enhanced sense of gratitude, with an emphasis on the transformative power of kindness and understanding.
