The Bordeaux Branch of the Nashville, Tennessee Public Library on Clarksville Pike was the scene of a shooting on August 10. The incident, which took place in the men’s restroom in the afternoon, has led to three teenagers facing charges, as per Metro police reports.
The event unfolded when a 14-year-old boy, previously in conflict with two brothers aged 15 and 16, entered the library with another 15-year-old. The brothers pursued them, following them into the restroom. The 16-year-old inadvertently shot himself in the foot and also wounded the 14-year-old in the groin. The altercation was limited to the restroom, and other library attendees were not involved.
After the incident, the injured 16-year-old was located on Kingview Drive and received medical attention. The 14-year-old was cared for by library staff until medical professionals arrived. Both are expected to recover.
Investigators discovered a semi-automatic pistol with the 14-year-old, indicating he might have used it. Federal officials are tracing the firearm’s last registered owner. The brothers are facing charges, including attempted criminal homicide and unlawful gun possession. The 15-year-old who accompanied the 14-year-old into the library is charged with conspiracy, as he seemed to be working with the brothers. The 14-year-old’s charges are under consideration by the District Attorney’s Office.
