According to a royal expert, Prince Harry and his embattled uncle, Prince Andrew, have no path back into the British royal family under the reign of King Charles.
In a Sky News Australia interview, Esther Krakue, a royal broadcaster, revealed that the British public does not want them to return after recent revelations and scandals involving the two princes.
The Duke of Sussex’s attendance at his father’s coronation in May was merely a sign of respect and not an indication of his desire to rejoin the royal family, Krakue explained. King Charles, she claimed, understands the public’s sentiments and realizes they have no desire to see his youngest son or brother rejoin the monarchy, often referred to as “the Firm.”
A recent poll by Deltapoll for the Daily Mail found that over half of the 1,504 British respondents wanted Prince Harry removed from the line of succession. Furthermore, the survey revealed that 51% of Brits believe Harry, his wife Meghan Markle, and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet should have their royal titles stripped.
Last week, Prince Harry’s “His Royal Highness” title was removed from his profile page, a move described as a “brutal reality check” by royal expert Richard Kay. Sources close to the monarchy say the royals are upset about the “sustained” attacks from the Sussexes, stemming from Harry and Meghan’s memoir and television interviews. In this charged atmosphere, there is resentment that the Duke and Duchess’s former privileges continue as if they are still part of “the Firm.”
