On Thursday, August 17, a Beechcraft Model 390 private jet met a tragic end, resulting in the death of all eight on board and two on the ground.
The aircraft was en route from Langkawi International Airport to Subang Airport in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia shows that the aircraft communicated with the Subang Air Traffic Control Tower, getting landing clearance at 2:48 pm. However, a few minutes later, smoke from the crash site on the highway was visible to the tower.
The Selangor Police Chief, Hussein Omar Khan, reported that the jet had an unfortunate collision with a car and motorcycle on its descent. A statement from Transport Minister Anthony Loke confirmed there were no survivors. Video footage was later seen on various online platforms.
A breakdown of the deceased, as provided by local police chief Mohamad Iqbal Ibrahim, includes six passengers, two crew members, and two motorists. Among those lost in the incident, as per BBC, were pilot Shahrul Kamal Roslan and a known local political figure.
