On Friday, August 4, during a routine welfare check near downtown San Jose, the San Jose police found a six-year-old boy and his great-grandmother with fatal stab wounds in a home.
The onsite medical team verified the deaths of both victims, as outlined in a police statement. While official identification from the police is pending, family members have named the child as Jordan Cam Walker. The family requested that the name of the great-grandmother, 71, not be released. A GoFundMe has been created by the family to help with expenses for the funeral, which was held Friday at Emmanuel Baptist Church in San Jose, California.
Jordan was remembered by his community for his interest in activities such as swimming, baseball, and basketball. Commenting on the incident, Sgt. Steve Aponte of the San Jose Police termed it as “startling and unfortunate.” The police have kept details about potential suspects confidential, focusing on the ongoing investigation.
