Elton John Hospitalized After Fall

Veteran singer Sir Elton John, 76, suffered minor injuries after a mishap at his home in southern France.

He was taken to the Princess Grace Hospital Center’s orthopedic department in Monaco for evaluation on Sunday, August 27 and was released the following day.

According to a statement released to BBC News, John slipped and fell and was admitted to a local hospital as a precautionary measure. Following vital check-ups, the musician was discharged and is now recuperating at home in good health.

Sir Elton and his family, including his husband David Furnish and their two children, have been spending the summer in Nice, France. This stay follows the conclusion of his extensive Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in July. He also delivered a memorable performance a month ago on the Glastonbury Festival’s Pyramid Stage.

Debuting in 1969, Sir Elton John’s spectacular career spans 50 years and is marked with numerous classics like Tiny Dancer and Your Song. His life and contributions to the music world were showcased in the 2019 movie Rocketman, where actor Taron Egerton portrayed the iconic singer.
